How To Use BuyAPet
This page walks sellers and buyers through the key steps on BuyAPet — from creating an account to posting ads, using chat safely, verifying documents and completing a purchase.
- ✓ Create your account (check your email for the validation link)
- ✓ Post an honest, complete advert with clear photos
- ✓ Manage everything in My Account → Dashboard
- ✓ Use Live Chat/SMS/Call to arrange an in-person viewing
- ✓ Only pay once you’ve verified the pet, documents and seller
For Sellers
- Create an account. Check your inbox (and Spam) for the validation email to activate your profile.
- Click “Post Your Ad”. Complete all fields accurately and upload clear photos.
- Open “My Account”. You’ll see your Dashboard with:
- My Listings — view, edit or delete your ads
- Favourites — a list of your saved ads
- Chat — your message history (on mobile, swipe right to see all chats)
- Payments — a record of payments made to BuyAPet
- Account Details — edit details, change password, upload a profile photo
- Respond to buyers. Keep communication within chat/SMS/call and arrange safe viewings.
- Be honest & prepared. Have the correct documentation ready for buyers.
For Buyers
- Search smart. Filter by category, location and keywords.
- Contact the seller via Live Chat, SMS or Call — do not send money yet.
- View the pet in person. Check all documents carefully, verify the seller and assess the pet’s health.
- Only pay when 100% satisfied. Use a secure, traceable payment method.
- Take your pet home with all agreed paperwork.
Little thing to remember
You’ll receive one email notifying you when a buyer contacts you via Live Chat. Please check your messages regularly. Messages are private, encrypted and are deleted after 14 days. To close your account, contact us directly.

FAQs
Why didn’t I get my validation email?
Check your Spam/Junk folder and ensure you entered the correct email address. Request a new validation email if needed.
Is it safe to pay a deposit?
Only after an in-person viewing (or live video verification) and with a written receipt. Use traceable payment methods.
How do I edit or delete my ad?
Go to My Account → My Listings, then choose Edit or Delete on the listing you want to change.
