I have a total of 11 Brown Warren Hens £10 each
and
7 White Star Hens £15 each.

The warren hen is a beautiful bird that is brown in colour and very cheap and easy to keep. The Warren was developed for the battery egg production industry as they are simply lean laying machines. they can provide up to 250-320 brown eggs a year. The Warren is a hybrid chicken and a combination of pure breeds, bred together for the specific purpose of being excellent egg layers. They are a lovely docile bird and are ideally suited to both free range conditions and small gardens. Warrens are very people friendly and ideal for the first time hen keeper and for people with children. They love interaction with humans and are great fun as well as being entertaining. You will always have company if you start digging in the garden with a Warren as they appear from no-where and literally sit on the shovel waiting for a worm to appear.

The White Star hen is also a great layer but lays slightly larger white eggs(see pic)
The white star is the smallest of the hybrid layers but in my opinion, lays the biggest eggs. We call these girls ‘the egg-laying machines’. They are very fast lively birds that are very independent. If they could talk we think they would say ‘leave me alone and I’ll lay you lots of eggs’. They have lovely snowy white feathers, long tail and a large comb which some get confused with being a cockerel.

The hens are 2 years old, in peak laying form and are in superb condition. The hens will be available for collection at the end of April giving you time to get their coop/run ready. We have a total of 18 birds for sale (min2) which will be sold on a first come first served basis so please get in contact soon.
